“EPA and Consensus Standard Method Updates”
As we enter 2021, we have to wonder what is new on the horizon for EPA Method update rules and new or improved consensus standards. There has been significant work by Standard Methods on Part 9000 methods, as well as some new or improved Part 4000 and Part 7000 methods including some new parameters that may be proposed for Clean Water Act reporting. In addition, ASTM International has been busy developing new methods for contaminants of emerging concern, including PFAS, microplastics, and more. This presentation covers the latest information from EPA regarding new methods, the status of present and coming method update rulings, and activities at Standard Methods and ASTM that may concern you.
Presenter: William Lipps, Shimadzu Scientific Instruments, Inc.
William Lipps is the General Manager of Government and Regulatory Business Development at Shimadzu Scientific, Inc, the current ASTM D19 on Water Chair, and the AWWA representative of the Joint Editorial Board (JEB) responsible for content in Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater.
